This is a short sample from the footage of a ritual conducted in honor of the Mother-tree (Eej Mod) in Mongolia in April 2005. A large number of shamans summoned their spirits and made offerings to the Mother-tree as well as to their own shaman-trees nearby. This shamaness is assisted by a friend of her, another shamaness and both of them are Buryats. Because the speech and song are sometimes murky and also because they use old Buryat words and expressions I cannot understand the ritual properly. I understand only bits and pieces.
